이 앱은 피부과 진료가 어려운 미국/유럽의 유저를 대상으로 개발되었습니다. 독일의 Stiftung Warentest 에서 원격진료와 대등한 소비자만족도를 보였습니다. 그러나, 한국에서는 피부과 대면진료가 훨씬 더 정확하므로 가까운 피부과에서 진료받기 바랍니다. 일반인이 찍은 사진의 경우 품질이 떨어지는 문제가 있고, 사진만으로 모든 정보를 전달하기에 어려움이 있기 때문에, 피부과에서 진료를 보는 것이 가장 정확한 정확한 진단을 얻을 수 있습니다. Model Dermatol 은 피부암을 진단하는 앱이 아닙니다.

인공지능 알고리즘은 사진을 분석해서, 검색엔진보다 훨씬 더 정확한 맞춤형 의학 정보 (피부암, 피부질환) 를 제공합니다. 알고리즘의 성능은 해외 피부과 최상위 학술지 (인용수 기준 상위 5%) 에 여러차례 게재되었습니다. 다수의 임상연구가 한국, 미국, 칠레, 그리스, 이탈리아, 독일, 오스트리아 등의 의료기관에서 이루어졌습니다. 서울대, 울산대, 연세대, 한림대, 인제대, Stanford, MSKCC, Ospedale San Bortolo 등 국내외 병원에서 아래와 같은 다수의 공동연구가 이루어졌습니다.
